My mission is simple: to shoot and create stories. My true passion lies in the art of storytelling. Whether I'm behind the camera or working on a new script, I'm driven by the desire to craft narratives that explore, resonate, and connect with people.Stories have the power to transport us to new worlds, evoke emotions, and spark conversations. They are the threads that bind us all together, and I'm dedicated to weaving those threads into captivating tales. Through my work in directing, producing, and shooting, I've been fortunate to bring a wide array of stories to life. It's a privilege I cherish every day, and I'm excited to continue this journey of creativity, one story at a time.
I'm Natalie Sim, an Australian-based Director/DOP. I've had the privilege of directing, producing, DOP'ing, and editing a diverse range of projects, spanning from commercials and music videos to documentaries and online content. Alongside these, I've also cultivated a portfolio of original projects, among them a successful online music series called "UP IN THE AIRLOCK," created in collaboration with Ian Haug (Powdernger/The Church).
One of my notable experiences includes serving as the Director of Photography (DOP) for 'A League of Her Own,' a feature documentary produced by Wild Bear Entertainment for the ABC. Additionally, I've recently wrapped up a two-year journey working on a USA production for the official Burning Man docu-series.
In recognition of my work, I've been honored with nominations for Best Music Video in Australia at both the Clipped TV Festival and the QMUSIC Awards. I'm also proud to represent Australian females as the ambassador for EASYRIG.
My journey in the world of film and production began with my Bachelor of Film degree from Griffith Film School in 2014. Since then, I've had the privilege of contributing to major productions such as 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' (2015) and 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here' (2015-2016). In 2016, I co-founded my own production company, MTMM, and have continued to explore and create within the realm of visual storytelling.
